International Pharmacy Graduates

International Pharmacy Graduates Registration

Any individual who wishes to practice as a pharmacist in Newfoundland and Labrador must register with the College of Pharmacy of Newfoundland and Labrador. Individuals who obtained their pharmacy education outside of Canada must meet the requirements set out below.

Eligibility

Must be registered with the Pharmacists’ Gateway Canada.
Must be registered with the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC), and have completed the document evaluation and successfully completed the PEBC Evaluating Exam.
Must be registered as a Pharmacy Intern and have completed the practical training requirements.
Must have successfully completed the CPNL Registration Exam.
Must have successfully completed both Parts I and II of the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) Qualifying Examination for Pharmacists.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

The following documentation is required to be submitted with the Pharmacist Registration Application. Visit Registration Requirements for more information.

Photo identification
Certificate of conduct
Proof of professional liability insurance
Proof of successful completion of the PEBC Evaluating Exam
Proof of successful completion of Parts I and II of the PEBC Qualifying Examination for Pharmacists
Proof of English language proficiency
Membership in the Pharmacists’ Association of Newfoundland and Labrador. Note: Proof is not required but the applicant must attest to current membership

Application

If you have determined you are eligible to register as a pharmacist and have obtained all the required documentation, you may apply through the College’s online application portal by following the steps below.

Click Application Portal in the Portal Login menu at the top right of the webpage.
Create an account by clicking the “Register for an Account” link and following the instructions.
Click the Start New Application button
Click to expand the Pharmacist Applications category
Click Select this Application button under the International Pharmacy Graduate – Pharmacist Registration Application.
Follow the instructions to submit the application and pay the application fee.

Completed applications are reviewed in the order they are submitted and may take 5-7 business days to process once all required documentation and fees are received. Applicants will be notified by email once a decision has been made. If approved, the applicant must pay the annual registration fee by logging into the Applications Portal and clicking the Pay Registration Fees button next to the appropriate application. Once the annual registration fee is paid, the pharmacist will be added to the Public Register and registration will be effective until December 31st of the registration year. The registration certificate can be downloaded from the Registrant Portal.
