Pharmacy Services

Pharmacies may choose to offer a variety of services beyond those required of all licensed pharmacies per the College of Pharmacy of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Standards of Operation. Pharmacists-in-charge must ensure the applicable Standards of Practice are followed for each service they choose to provide and apply for authorization to provide the service when applicable. These services include but are not limited to:

Central Fill Services
Compliance Packaging
Service to Long-Term Care Facilities
Service to Personal Care Homes
Non-Sterile Compounding
Sterile Compounding
Point of Care Testing
Opioid Agonist Maintenance Treatment
Sale of Exempted Codeine Products
Provision of Controlled Substances

Update Pharmacy Services

Pharmacists-in-charge are expected to keep their online pharmacy profile up-to-date with the additional pharmacy services offered. To update the pharmacy services, pharmacists-in-charge can follow the steps below:

Click Pharmacy Portal in the Portal Login menu at the top right of the webpage.
Log into your account.
Click the Additional Pharmacy Services link on the side menu.
Select the checkboxes for the appropriate services.
Click the Save button.
